Fully branded, recyclable and compostable event badges for the Events Team, personalised on demand using an Evolis Primacy2 Printer

The Events team run a number of internal events during the year across multiple countries and were looking for a more sustainable alternative to their existing event badges.

Eco-friendly material and the ability to produce badges on demand were the key criteria as it would not always be possible to have a delegate list beforehand. It was also important that the solution represented the brand in terms of quality and appearance.

We sent a number of different options for testing to the team including our Sustainable Wood Event Badges with replacement labels and pre-printed paperboard passes.

The reusable wood options were well-liked, but the paperboard was more practical, as long as they could be easily personalised on the day of the event.

The decision was to have a stock of paperboard cards pre-printed with different branding to denote the different levels of attendees, such as Staff, Delegate and Speaker.

These professionally branded cards could then be overprinted on using an Event Badge Printer and personalised with individual details on the spot.

The Evolis Primacy2 ID Card printer is one of only a few printers capable of reliably printing on paperboard stock with consistent results, using a special Wax ribbon. The team also chose to include Wi-Fi connectivity with the printer, making it portable between events and different settings.

The Primacy2 is a high performing card printer that can handle large volumes quickly and is one of the most dependable printer brands on the market.

We also supplied magnetic clips for attaching onto the back of the card, to prevent damage being caused to clothing.

The Evolis paperboard cards are made from paper sourced from sustainably managed forests. They are compostable and recyclable in regular household waste.
