Evolis Zenius 1 Discontinued: What You Need to Know
Evolis has announced the end-of-life for the Zenius 1 ID card printer. Existing users still have a long window to access consumables and spare parts, so there is no need for immediate action. But for new purchases, the upgraded replacement is now the Evolis Zenius 2.
The Evolis Zenius 1 is being phased out as Evolis moves customers over to the newer Zenius 2 range.
This doesn't mean that if you're an existing Zenius 1 user you need to replace your printer right away. It simply means there is now a confirmed end-of-life schedule for final orders, spare parts and consumables.
Evolis Zenius 1 key end-of-life dates

Zenius 2 is the upgraded replacement
The Evolis Zenius 2 is the upgraded replacement for the Zenius 1. It is the modern, updated model, with faster speeds, improved print quality and a 3-year warranty. It has also had a design refresh, but crucially, it has retained its small size.
If you are looking to buy or replace an existing Zenius, you will want to choose the new Zenius 2. There are two options: the Zenius 2 Classic and the Zenius 2 Expert.

Is the Evolis Zenius 1 discontinued?
Yes. Evolis has announced that the Zenius 1 ID card printer model will no longer be available to buy from October 2026.
Do I need to replace my Zenius 1 immediately?
No. Existing users still have a long support window for spare parts and consumables. Spare parts will be available until 2031 and ribbons will be available until 2036.
What replaces the Evolis Zenius 1?
