Material Guide
PVC
Our PVC cards are made from quality, durable plastic and are available with a Matt or Gloss finish. Unless otherwise stated, our PVC cards are 720 microns, the standard thickness of a credit-card.
Biodegradable PVC
Our Biodegradable PVC cards contain an additive that means they will degrade and wear down in microbe rich environments such as biologically active landfill. In terms of print finish, you won’t notice much difference to a regular PVC card.
Unless otherwise stated, our Biodegradable PVC cards are 720 microns, the same thickness as a standard credit-card. They can also be recycled where facilities exist, but not in standard household recycling.
100% Recycled PVC
Our 100% Recycled PVC cards are made from 100% recycled plastic (R-PVC), with a 100% recycled film applied for durability. This post-consumer recycled PCV material is sifted, washed, sterilised and separated to remove contaminants, resulting in a quality material.
Unless otherwise specified, they are 720 microns, the same thickness as a standard credit-card. They can also be recycled in the correct facilities.
Paperboard
Where paperboard is available, this is made from 270gsm paperboard manufactured in the UK from an FSC-certified supplier. They feel a little thinner than a standard credit card.
Our paperboard cards are fully recyclable after use in your standard household recycling.

We offer an art working service for £25. Add it to your basket and we’ll be in touch when your order comes through.
To help you prepare, we will need:
- A high-resolution file of your logo (ideally an EPS) and any other design assets.
- A note of the colour(s) you want to use (Pantone or CMYK breakdowns) or a graphic to match to.
- A note of the font you want to use. If it’s a non-standard font, we’ll need a copy of this too.

RFID Key Cards Common FAQs
Get answers to common questions about our RFID Key Cards.
Will these RFID key cards work with my hotel door-lock system?
RFID hotel key cards are not universal. Compatibility depends on the door-lock system, RFID chip and any encoding requirements. Send us your lock brand and model, software or encoder details, or information from your existing card. We can then help identify the appropriate specification and provide a functioning sample to test.
Do the cards arrive programmed?
The cards are supplied with the agreed RFID technology, but guest access permissions are normally added by the hotel using its existing door-lock software and encoder. A functioning sample can be supplied so you can confirm compatibility before placing your full order.
Can an RFID card also include a magnetic stripe?
Yes. HiCo and LoCo magnetic stripes are available, encoded or unencoded, where required. Most current hotel orders use RFID alone, but we can quote for a combined specification if your system needs it.
Which card materials are available?
Choose from standard PVC, biodegradable PVC and 100% recycled PVC. Custom wood and bamboo RFID cards are available as a separate product. The best choice will depend on your required technology, expected use and preferred finish.
Can I test a card before ordering?
Yes. We can provide a functioning RFID sample for compatibility testing. Other material and finish samples can also be included where helpful. Paid press-proof samples featuring your own artwork are available if required.
How do I supply my artwork?
Upload your print-ready artwork when ordering or send it to us afterwards. Our £25 Artwork Service is available if you would like us to prepare the design for you. An artwork proof is supplied for approval before production.
