What are MIFARE DESFire® EV3 RFID Cards used for?
MIFARE DESFire® EV3 RFID Cards are commonly used for secure access control, staff ID cards, membership cards, student cards and other contactless card applications. They are designed for compatible NFC and RFID systems that support MIFARE DESFire® technology.
Are these genuine MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards?
Yes. We only supply genuine MIFARE® cards, and The Card Network is a registered MIFARE® Partner, so you can buy with confidence.

Are these cards compatible with my access control system?
These cards are suitable for compatible NFC access control readers that support MIFARE DESFire® EV3, or compatible DESFire configurations. Access control systems can vary, so we recommend checking your current card type, reader specification or asking us for a sample before ordering.
I use a MIFARE® card at the moment, will a Fudan card work on my system?
Fudan is a compatible technology to MIFARE®, so it’s likely that it will work on your system, however we recommend getting a sample card from us first to test.
Can you send me a sample MIFARE DESFire® EV3 card so I can test it?
Yes, no problem. If you are unsure whether these cards will work with your system, please get in touch and we can arrange a sample card for testing before you place a larger order.
What is the difference between MIFARE DESFire® EV3 and standard MIFARE® cards?
MIFARE DESFire® EV3 is a higher security contactless smart card technology designed for more advanced applications. It is different from standard MIFARE Classic style cards, so it is important to check that your reader and software support DESFire before ordering.
Are these cards blank or already programmed?
These MIFARE DESFire® EV3 RFID Cards are supplied as blank cards. They may need to be encoded, programmed or enrolled into your access control system before use, depending on how your system is set up.
Can I choose between 4K and 8K MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards?
Yes, these cards are available in 4K and 8K options. The right memory size depends on your access control system and how the card will be used. If you are replacing an existing card, we recommend matching the specification of your current cards where possible.
Can you custom print MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards for us?
Yes, we can custom print MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards with your logo, branding, staff details or card design. If you need printed cards rather than blank cards, please contact us for a quote or choose our custom printed MIFARE® card option.
Do you offer an ECO version?
Yes. Our ECOCARD85 is a Fudan 1K RFID card that is made from 85% recycled PVC. It is compatible with many systems that use 1K cards on 13.56 MHz frequency, including MIFARE®.

Can MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards be printed with an ID card printer?
Yes, blank MIFARE DESFire® EV3 cards can usually be personalised using an ID card printer. For the best finish, we recommend using a retransfer printer, especially for RFID cards, as the embedded chip and antenna can sometimes affect the surface of the card.
Do you offer a more sustainable RFID Keyfob?
Yes. We now offer Wood RFID 1K Keyfobs that have a Fudan chip, which is compatible with MIFARE®.
